Find Your Place at Berkeley
The Berkeley family worships and works together to discern God’s will for our growth in faith, and to serve God through serving our neighbors. Come learn and grow with us! There are a number of ways to get involved at Berkeley:
Worship
Worship is the heart of what we do at Berkeley. The adult, youth, and children’s choirs, handbells, and other music ministries provide ample opportunities to praise God and receive grace through music. Getting involved with the Worship Committee or Spiritual Care Committee is a great way to help plan and coordinate worship activities, opportunities for spiritual development, and other special services. Outreach
Members and friends of Berkeley are engaged in feeding the hungry each Sunday morning through our Work Corner ministry, raising money for charities such as Heifer Project and Nothing But Nets, and partnering with Cunningham Elementary School to provide support to local children and families. The Outreach Committee provides further opportunities to help guide the work of the church in giving mercy and fostering social justice. More about outreach…
Education
Berkeley offers Sunday school classes for adults, youth, and children each Sunday morning at 9:40 am. Covenant groups, Bible studies, and other topical classes are offered throughout the week as well. Studies have included Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University and the Disciple Bible Study series. The Education Committee oversees learning opportunities for the congregation and the community at large. More about education…
Fellowship
All are welcome at Berkeley! Come and join us for coffee and doughnuts between services out on the deck. The church hosts a pot luck lunch after the second service on the fifth Sunday of each month. Groups such as the United Methodist Women and United Methodist Men provide opportunities for Berkeley’s members and friends to build strong relationships with each other and with Christ. Leadership
We are all leaders, called by our baptism to live out our call to be “the priesthood of all believers.” Committees such as the Trustees, Administrative Council, Staff-Parish Relations, and Finance help direct the church’s administration. Additionally, the church sends lay delegates to district and conference-level meetings of the United Methodist Church. More about leadership…
